Job Title: Retail Banking SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Location: 100% Remote

Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Retail Banking SME to provide deep expertise in retail banking operations, processes, and technology. The SME will play a critical role in shaping, guiding, and optimizing our retail banking solutions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of retail banking products, services, and the associated technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subject Matter Expertise:
- Serve as the key subject matter expert for retail banking systems, processes, and operations.
- Provide guidance on retail banking trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Offer insights into customer experience improvements, product innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Process Optimization:
- Analyze current retail banking workflows and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Identify gaps in processes and provide solutions for operational bottlenecks.
- Drive process automation initiatives to streamline day-to-day banking operations.
- Product & Service Development:
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to design and enhance retail banking products such as checking accounts, savings accounts, mortgages, loans, and credit cards.
- Assist in the definition and development of new retail banking products, ensuring they meet market demands.
- Work with cross-functional teams to create and implement digital banking services and channels, including mobile and online banking.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that retail banking processes and products comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide guidance on regulatory issues such as KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), and GDPR.
- Customer Experience:
- Recommend strategies to improve customer service and engagement across retail banking channels.
- Help design customer-centric retail banking solutions that improve the overall user experience.
- Provide insights on customer needs and behavior to improve the development of personalized banking solutions.
- Training and Mentoring:
- Conduct training sessions for internal teams to improve understanding of retail banking operations, products, and technology.
- Mentor junior team members and provide leadership in retail banking projects.
- Technology Enablement:
- Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and maintain technology solutions that support retail banking operations.
- Ensure that the retail banking systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for retail banking-related queries from stakeholders.
- Work closely with senior management to communicate key insights and recommendations on retail banking operations.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure alignment with retail banking requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in retail banking operations, product development, or consulting.
- In-depth knowledge of retail banking products (e.g., deposits, loans, payments, credit cards) and services.
- Experience with digital banking technologies and platforms.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in the banking sector.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications related to banking or financial services.
- Experience working with fintech or banking technology platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile and project management methodologies.
