SUMMARY
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep experience in backend development (Java and NodeJS) and hands-on AI/LLM integration experience, specifically with Meta/Llama models. This engineer will design and build backend APIs, NodeJS services, and full-stack features while also helping advance AI-driven initiatives across customer-facing and internal platforms.
Candidates must have meaningful, practical experience integrating LLMs into applications. This includes building inference workflows, implementing retrieval pipelines, tuning prompts, handling embeddings, and connecting application logic to models such as Meta Llama.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, enhance, and support Java/Spring Boot backend systems and NodeJS microservices.
Design, implement, and support AI-enabled application features using LLMs such as Meta Llama (Llama 2 or 3) through APIs, containers, or fine-tuned models.
Build and support LLM inference pipelines including:
- Embedding generation
- Vector search using Pinecone, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, or DynamoDB
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Prompt orchestration and model invocation
Create REST APIs that interact with AI services, vector stores, or internal ML platforms.
Contribute to front-end components using ReactJS as needed.
Participate in architecture, design discussions, and solution planning.
Implement automated unit, integration, and API tests.
Support CI/CD pipelines for traditional services and AI components.
Ensure compliance with enterprise security and privacy standards, including handling sensitive data.
Provide production support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for backend and AI-enabled services.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to evolving engineering best practices.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Backend (Primary Focus)
5+ years of Java development (Java 8 or higher) using Spring Boot.
Strong NodeJS experience building backend services and APIs.
Experience with REST API design, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
AI / LLM Integration
Experience integrating LLMs (Meta Llama strongly preferred) into production or prototype applications.
Understanding of prompt engineering, model selection, context window management, and token optimization.
Experience with building or integrating RAG systems.
Experience generating and storing embeddings for semantic search or augmentation workflows.
Familiarity with AI/LLM frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or similar.
Experience running Llama models via API, in a local container, GPU environment, or cloud inference endpoint (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or private hosting).
Experience working with vector databases or similarity search tools.
Understanding of performance tuning for model inference.
Front-End (Secondary)
ReactJS, Redux, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
Ability to build or troubleshoot UI components when needed.
Cloud / DevOps
Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure services.
Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or containerized deployment experience.
CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Healthcare or payer domain experience (claims, provider systems, eligibility, member services).
Experience building enterprise-scale Node/Java microservices.
Familiarity with FHIR or healthcare data integration.
Experience supporting customer-facing applications.
Experience with distributed teams and Agile methodologies.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
5-8+ years of full-stack or backend engineering experience.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
