About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Manager, Network Engineering 1 in Draper, UT
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Manage and oversee network engineers, globally to support the eBay production and corporate networks. Analyze eBay's current network processes, technologies, and vendors to identify areas of improvement, and upgrade hardware and software for optimized computer networks. Assign and track work on a per-shift basis for all contract and FTE team members. Work with the Product Engineering team to ensure documentation and knowledge sharing is adequate and there is no single point of failure Ensure that all work is managed 24 hours a day, seven days a week and that all vacations, sick absences, etc., are covered by the team. Manage and monitor any outside participation for any projects or initiatives. Ensure that the team responds appropriately to all escalated events or inquiries from our SEC and data center adjacencies. Monitor and report on all ticket and performance-based metrics to track productivity as well as overall employee/contractor participation. Perform regular, if not annual, reviews with all employees and contractors. Ensure that supporting organizations are held accountable for process and procedures when work is offered or asked to be supported. Troubleshoot production networks in real-time while maintaining high system availability. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
