Description
Our client has created a new role for a Cloud Architect to bring alignment across teams and ensure solutions are designed correctly. In the past, there has been a lack of coordination, with different teams working in silos. The goal now is to have someone who can bridge those gaps and drive more cohesive, strategic execution.
The top candidates for this role will have strong experience designing in Azure and AWS, be familiar with best practices (ex. Microsoft recommendations regarding architecture, security, etc.). They will also have an engineering experience, familiarity with DevOps, and strong experience building cloud solutions. The architect will be interfacing between stakeholders and engineers across app dev, digital banking, DevOps, cloud engineering, database teams, etc. so will need to have strong communication and collaboration.
Banking, financial, or other regulated industry (healthcare) experience strongly preferred. Because of all of the regulations and how things need to be designed, needs to be able to explain anything they design to auditors. The financial/regulated experience is essentially required. Experience in small to mid size organizations may serve them better, as they should have broad knowledge and experience (as opposed to siloed/specialization that sometimes happens in larger orgs).
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect with broad experience working in a Hybrid Cloud/On-Prem environment and the ability to design and develop cross technology solutions. As a valuable team member, your duties (not limited to) will include:

- Collaborate with other engineers to develop deployment strategies for existing and new services
- Evaluate and implement technologies that improve efficiency, performance, scale and reliability
- Cost and performance optimize new and existing cloud resources
- Develop and deliver creative solutions that automate systems functions
- Build and configure components in an Azure cloud platform
- Developing and maintaining scripts to automate deployment of infrastructure, code and other tasks
- Support the organization in maturing the infrastructure into a fully automated, service-oriented, hybrid IT.
- Deploy, configure, and support cloud IaaS and PaaS infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve service-related issues
- Manage assigned projects
- Provide technical assistance and support
- Collaborate with Systems Team Members and Management as well as Development, and Application Support Teams
May perform other duties as assigned
