Job Details

Job Title: Data Scientist
Location: Raleigh, NC/ Onsite
Duration: Long Term
Must be Eligible for Security Clearance
Note
: Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years. Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years (Military Service excluded. Exception does not include military family members.)
Experience Requirement:
Minimum of 13 full years with a degree, or 17 years without a degree
Description:
Identifies business trends and problems through complex big data analysis. Interprets results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining independently. Designs, develops, and implements the most valuable business solutions for the organization. Prepares big data, implements data models, and develops databases to support business solutions.
List of Tasks to be Performed:
Task #1: Data Analysis and Visualization Development
Deliverables may include:
Rapid analysis scripts
Visualization prototypes / models
Interactive dashboards
Visioning session materials
Analysis reports and presentations
Project plans and documentation
Acceptance Criteria:
Analysis techniques are appropriate for the given need and available data
Project timelines are met within reasonable variance due to project uncertainty
Project documentation is accurate to analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
Products meet Business Unit needs and are usable with minimal training
Task #2: Modeling and Optimization
Deliverables may include:
Mathematical optimization models
Source code and/or scripting
Translational documentation for analytical and visualization product development
Proposal presentations
Project result documentation and presentations
Acceptance Criteria:
Model parameters and functions are appropriate for the given need and available data
Project timelines are met within reasonable variance due to project uncertainty
Project documentation is accurate to analysis findings and free of grammatical errors
Products meet Business Unit needs and are usable with minimal training
Required Certification / Experience / Education:
Strong academic background in Data Science, Statistics, or Experimental Psychology
Technical Skills:
SQL
Python or R (preferably both)
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to work across varied industries, demonstrating adaptability and quick learning in complex environments.
