TCI has an immediate need for an Audio Visual (AV) Technician II in Louisville, KY. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

SUMMARY

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician II will provide technical support to assigned customer locations. Will work alongside other AV Techs to conduct integration, operation, installation and maintenance of audio visual (A/V) equipment such as display devices, projectors, video teleconferencing systems, fiber equipment, and other related equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform specialized technical tasks in the operation, installation, configuration and maintenance of complex audio-visual equipment for Company and customers.
  • Read and interpret AV system drawings, schematics, and construction plans and install AV equipment to meet requirements as detailed in installation plans.
  • Install low voltage wiring and cable; solder and terminate connectors; wire equipment racks; and assemble equipment/devices using the appropriate supports/mounts.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot AV equipment failures and make minor adjustments to audio visual equipment and systems.
  • Test and debug systems for final quality assurance and acceptance by the customer.
  • Mentor and train junior level Audio Visual Technicians.
  • Conduct onsite training for customers on the operation and capabilities of installed equipment.
  • Provide recommendations on new/replacement VTC and AV equipment; direct inquiries to company s sales department employees.
  • Perform weekly and monthly preventive maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate s Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience installing and maintaining audio visual equipment.
  • CTS/CTS-I/CTS-D certification or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common and complex audio-visual equipment failures
  • Training/knowledge of VTC codecs and audio DSP technology (Biamp, QSC, ClearOne, others), Control System installation (Crestron, AMX, Extron), IP network knowledge (Wired and Wireless).
  • Ability to understand system drawings, hands-on experience in wiring racks and wire management.
  • Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; and IP network knowledge, ISDN network knowledge, hands-on experience in wiring racks and wire management.

DESIRED SKILLS (Nice to have) SKILLS

  • CTS/CTS-I/CTS-D certification is a huge plus!
  • Ability to obtain Federal Government Secret Clearance or above is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of AV equipment, protocols/standards and cable management, cable determinations, and soldering.
