Software Engineer

What does a successful Software Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will be part of a dynamic team focused on creating solutions that make financial transactions seamless and secure. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining applications that align with our clients' needs, utilizing the latest technology.

What you will do:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers within the team.
  • Drive Java-based application development for distributed, highly scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant systems using Microservice architecture.
  • Build solutions and platforms for enterprise-wide reuse.
  • Participate in development activities with onshore resources and conduct technical walkthroughs with all stakeholders.
  • Build proof of concepts and develop applications using industry best practices and standards.


What you will need to have:

  • 4+ years of experience with Java/J2EE technologies such as Spring, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Microservices, Spring JPA, Spring Webflux, and Hibernate.
  • 4+ years of experience with JSON, Swagger, REST APIs, XML, XML Schemas, and Web Service technology.
  • 4+ years of experience in SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • 4+ years of experience with DevOps and SCM tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
  • 4+ years of experience collaborating with multiple teams to provide technical knowledge and solutions to complex business problems.
  • 4+years of engineering and experimentation in mindset to learn and adopt new technologies and open-source packages.
  • 4+ years of experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Fiserv systems experience.


What would be great to have:

  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Experience in event-driven architecture, Kafka, and data streams.
  • Strong cloud foundation with Azure or AWS.
  • Experience with containers and container management using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of APM, observability, logging, and IT operations tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, CloudWatch, and Azure Monitoring.


Salary Range

$96,400.00 - $162,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
