Job Title: Senior SAP S/4HANA Consultant - Finance & Retail Transformation
Job Type: Hybrid Full-Time (2-3 Days Remote)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Pay Rate: $86 - $107 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior SAP S/4HANA Consultant to support the final phase of our SAP S/4HANA transformation. This project, which commenced in March, is a strategic initiative aimed at optimizing our financial and retail operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong Finance/Accounting background with extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations, including multiple digital transformation projects. Candidates with retail SAP implementation experience will be prioritized. You'll collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and IT leaders to define business requirements and ensure successful delivery through SAP systems, playing a critical leadership role in driving key priorities during this final phase of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Requirement Definition: Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with SAP S/4HANA functionalities and system capabilities.
- Finance Process Expertise: Provide insight and technical support around finance and accounting processes, including financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), asset accounting, management accounting (CO), and other workflows embedded in SAP S/4HANA.
- Transformation Support: Drive the successful implementation of the final stages of our SAP S/4HANA transformation roadmap, ensuring deliverables meet business needs.
- System Optimization: Work effectively with IT teams to troubleshoot, enhance, and optimize SAP S/4HANA functionalities across financial and retail operations.
- Retail-Specific SAP Solutions: Influence SAP adoption strategies based on expertise in retail-related operations, such as inventory management, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and supply chain workflows.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Be the liaison between finance, accounting, IT, and operations teams, ensuring smooth communication and alignment on transformation goals.
- Training and Documentation: Prepare end-users through comprehensive documentation and training to ensure system proficiency and adoption.
- Manage Project Progress: Provide strategic project oversight and ensure timely completion of key deliverables, while proactively addressing any challenges that arise.
Key Qualifications:
- SAP Expertise:
- Minimum 6-8 years of SAP consulting experience, with at least 3 full-cycle SAP S/4HANA Finance transformations successfully completed.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP Finance (FI-CO) modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Controlling (CO), profitability analysis (COPA), and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of S/4HANA architecture, including integrations, configurations, and enhancements.
- Finance/Accounting Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA in Finance preferred).
- Proven ability to implement and improve accounting processes, financial reporting workflows, and compliance standards within SAP environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of finance principles, such as month-end close processes, cost accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Retail Industry Experience:
- Direct experience working on SAP implementations for retail businesses or companies with retail operations is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with retail-specific processes, such as inventory management, sales audit, procure-to-pay, and customer transaction workflows.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Expertise in SAP Activate methodology and experience overseeing data migrations and integrations.
- Communication & Leadership Skills:
- Exceptional ability to bridge business requirements between finance/accounting and IT teams and communicate complex ideas clearly across teams.
- Proven leadership in steering cross-functional collaborations to maintain progress across diverse teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to identify and close process gaps, troubleshoot technical challenges, and drive scalable solutions within SAP systems.
