Responsibilities:
- We're looking for a Scala Software Engineer to join our API Platform team, where we design and build the services that power Big Commerce's APIs. Our mission is to provide fast, reliable, and scalable interfaces for developers-both internal and external-while constantly pushing the platform forward.
- You'll work on new and impactful projects focused on evolving our API architecture, improving performance, and building internal tools that enable other teams to move faster and deliver value more efficiently.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer
- Solid experience with Scala;
- Proficiency with Git, SQL, and a strong understanding of HTTP and API design principles;
- English at B2 level or higher;
- A collaborative mind-set and the ability to work autonomously when needed;
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with any of the following is a plus:
- Technologies: gRPC, GraphQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Kibana, Docker, CircleCI, Prometheus, Grafana, Lightstep, Jira;
- Cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform, AWS;
- Other languages: PHP, Go, Ruby, JavaScript;
