Business Systems Analyst – BigQuery / API / Web / Health Insurance Domain

Location: Philadelphia, United States (Onsite / Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to analyze, document, and translate business needs into system requirements.
• Define and document data analysis/transformation requirements, including business rule definitions and metadata mapping using BigQuery datasets and tables for business reporting, analytics, and system validation.
• Design interactive front-end mock-ups and dashboard layouts to visualize analytical insights.
• Work closely with UI/front-end developers to ensure usability, performance, and alignment with business goals.
• Collaborate on API design and integration. Support web applications using frameworks and APIs.
• Conduct business process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments for system improvements within the insurance space.
• Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by defining test cases, validating system behavior, and ensuring alignment with business expectations.
• Serve as a liaison between business users and IT teams, ensuring technical feasibility and functional clarity for ongoing enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Domain Experience

• 3–5 years as a Business Systems Analyst, ideally within the health insurance or healthcare sector.

Data Analytics & Querying

• Advanced proficiency in BigQuery (mandatory) and SQL for data extraction, analytics, and reporting.

Technical Acumen

• Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, and front-end frameworks (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Angular) to support requirements gathering and UI validation.

Reporting & Visualization

• Experience defining and documenting reporting and dashboarding requirements.
• Ability to create interactive front-end presentations for business communication and stakeholder review.

Analytical Thinking

• Excellent analytical and business problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of data-driven decision making.

Documentation Expertise

• Skilled in writing:
• Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
• Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
• Use Cases
• User Stories

Communication

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
