Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator who is a generalist responsible for all aspects of database management and data analysis. This role involves supporting back-end systems such as provisioning, software installation, patching, creating/decommissioning databases, performance tuning, incident/problem management, and supporting the software development lifecycle.

The Database Administrator will also manage tools related to monitoring, backup and recovery, and DevOps enablement (such as data refreshes or cloning). You ll interface with vendor support and collaborate with infrastructure and application teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

This role requires the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects, work independently, and mentor junior team members. Off-hours work availability is necessary due to the 24x7 operational environment.


Qualifications:

8+ years of experience creating and managing Oracle databases (12.2 and newer)Hands-on experience with multi-instance Real Application Clusters (RAC)Strong skills in diagnosing and resolving performance/reliability issuesExperience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), agents, and HA configurationsFamiliarity with RedHat Linux (v6+)Proven implementation and administration experience with Oracle DataGuardUNIX shell scripting (Korn or Bash)Ability to guide developers and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Oracle engineers and service providers to maintain a high-performing DB environmentBuild, upgrade, and patch Oracle databasesEnsure physical database design complies with enterprise standardsInstall/configure/manage Oracle and OEM softwareAdvise development teams on Oracle technical topicsPerform performance tuning, stats gathering, backup/recovery, and security tasksImplement and recommend database security best practicesCoordinate downtimes for changes with related teamsWork with vendors and partners to resolve database issuesAdhere to organizational IT/DBA policies and procedures
