Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Duration: 08/18/2025 06/30/2026 (Contract)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (On-site Tuesday Thursday; must reside in Georgia)


About the Role

The Analytics Engineer will play a key role in the data modernization initiatives by designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. You will work with cutting-edge tools like Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI to transform raw data into analytics-ready models that empower decision-making and enterprise reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

    • Design and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.

    • Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for data lifecycle management.

    • Develop real-time and batch ingestion processes from various source systems.

    • Ensure data quality and apply transformation logic using Python, Spark, and SQL.

    • Implement Delta Lake for data versioning, schema enforcement, and ACID transactions.

    • Integrate with Azure services such as OneLake and ADLS Gen2.

  • Data Modeling & Curation

    • Design dimensional and real-time data models in collaboration with domain experts.

    • Standardize schemas and naming conventions.

    • Prepare analytics-ready datasets for Power BI dashboards and reports.

  • Data Governance & Security

    • Apply data classification and tagging based on governance policies.

    • Implement row-level security, data masking, and audit logging.

    • Support integration with Microsoft Purview for metadata and lineage management.

  • Reporting & Visualization

    • Work closely with BI developers to optimize data models for Power BI.

    • Deliver curated datasets aligned with reporting and business logic requirements.

  • DevOps & Automation

    • Assist in CI/CD automation for data workflows using Azure DevOps.

    • Monitor and optimize data jobs for performance and scalability.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles.

  • Proficiency in:

    • SQL (advanced techniques for data transformation and optimization)

    • Azure Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake)

    • Microsoft Fabric (Dataflows, Pipelines, OneLake)

    • Python (Pandas, PySpark)

    • SQL Server 2019+

  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data quality, and schema design.

  • Familiarity with data modeling, governance, and security best practices.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience building datasets and semantic models for Power BI.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, Unity Catalog, or similar governance tools.

  • Exposure to real-time data streaming architectures.

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Terraform.

  • Familiarity with compliance requirements for federal or state data handling.


Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer
