We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst with deep domain expertise in Global Custody and SWIFT messaging standards to support a strategic banking integration project. This individual will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing business processes into existing application environments as part of a Global Custody operations acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
Experience Level: 10 15+ years
Act as a domain SME for Global Custody and post-trade settlement processes.
Design and document business processes for the integration of acquired custody operations.
Lead functional discussions and process mapping between business users and technical teams.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and user stories.
Ensure alignment with SWIFT messaging standards, especially ISO 20022 and legacy MT formats.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure business logic is correctly translated into the system.
Conduct gap analysis, impact assessments, and drive solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
Serve as the key liaison between the business and technology teams for Custody and Settlement flows.
Work with multi-functional teams across different geographies to drive timely delivery.
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of Business Analyst experience in the Banking and Financial Services sector.
Proven expertise in Global Custody, Asset Servicing, and Settlement.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SWIFT (MT messages and ISO 20022).
Experience working on banking platforms and integration programs post-merger or acquisition.
Solid understanding of reference data, trade lifecycle, cash & securities reconciliation.
Technically conversant capable of discussing solutions with developers and architects.
Familiarity with Java/.Net/database environments is highly desirable (not coding, but conceptual understanding).
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead functional discussions, challenge requirements, and propose practical solutions.
Experience with banking systems migration or consolidation projects.
Exposure to European custody operations, especially Luxembourg, is a strong plus.
Prior experience working with global financial institutions is preferred.
