Job Description: Hardware Engineer Power Supply
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
Job Description:
- Design and implement high-reliability electronic systems, including PCBs, embedded systems, and power
electronics. - Conduct component selection, schematic design, and PCB layout to meet aerospace standards and
requirements. - Coordinate with layout engineers to oversee PCB layout activities.
- Perform detailed analysis, simulation, thermal management and testing of electronic circuits and systems.
- Capture and analyze requirements for power supply design projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues during development and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including DO-254 and DO-178C.
- Utilize knowledge of DO-160/ MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461 Qualification tests to ensure
hardware compliance with aerospace testing standards. - Proficiency in tools and software for PCB design (e.g., DxDesigner, Mentor Graphics, CR5000).
- Conduct lab testing, including designing test equipment and writing/executing test procedures/scripts for
engineering. - Check out/DVT and production sublevel testing.
- Power supply design, including magnetics design, EMI filter design.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC and Military power requirements such as MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461.
- Thermal management of power components and various topologies, both isolated and non-isolated with 10
KW +.
