Senior Data Engineer (W2 Only Remote, CST/EST Hours)

Location: Remote (Work from Home)
Schedule: CST/EST business hours
Type: 1-Year W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $70 $80/hr (W2 Only No C2C)

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to support a long-term project focused on building a data consolidation tool that integrates diverse datasets from multiple systems into a centralized Snowflake data lake. This role emphasizes query optimization, efficient data flow, and ensuring fast, reliable access to analytics-ready data within a modern AWS-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting and transforming large datasets.
  • Optimize SQL queries and Snowflake workflows to enhance performance and minimize costs.
  • Integrate data from various sources, including Aurora RDS (PostgreSQL) and Kafka-based streams.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers to manage infrastructure using AWS services such as S3, EKS (Kubernetes), Lambda, and IAM.
  • Work in a containerized environment using Kubernetes and Docker for deployment and orchestration.
  • Contribute to codebases in Python or Java; familiarity with Node.js is a plus.

Required Skills:


  • Strong experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development and data transformation.
  • Proficient with Snowflake data warehouse architecture and best practices.
  • Expert-level SQL skills and experience with Aurora RDS (PostgreSQL) is a plus
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services including S3, Lambda, IAM, and EKS.


Nice to Have:


  • Experience coding in Node.js (not required)
  • Experience with Kafka as part of the data ingestion/processing layer
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
