Blue Ridge Community College seeks an IT Support - Systems Administrator. This position will be instrumental in managing and enhancing our information technology infrastructure and will require serving as a direct liaison to various college departments and supporting business information systems, such as PeopleSoft. Candidates should have significant general IT experience, as well as experience in SharePoint, Office 365, and Microsoft Exchange. Experience in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECP) is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities:
- Business Information Systems Analyst:
- Act as a liaison supporting diverse systems (ranging from enterprise-level PeopleSoft to the local-hosted servers such as the AccessIT door controller system), facilitating effective communication between IT and department stakeholders.
- Provide assistance with system usage and training as required.
- Office 365 Administration:
- Manage and administer Office 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Office 365 services.
- Monitor and optimize email systems for performance and reliability.
- SharePoint Administration:
- Design, implement, and maintain SharePoint sites to support collaborative initiatives within our academic community.
- Ensure the security and accessibility of SharePoint environments.
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECP):
- Utilize MECP to manage and deploy software, updates, and configurations across our diverse IT environment.
- Implement best practices for endpoint security and compliance.
- Door control system
- Assign access rights based on established protocol.
- Identify and resolve issues with access control software by working with vendors and internal departments to respond to outages and equipment failures, maintain, update, and troubleshoot software, and escalate issues as needed
- Manage projects with vendors to expand capabilities for the access control system environment.
- Train others as needed
- General IT tasks:
- Apply general IT experience to address a wide range of technology-related tasks in a higher education context.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the evolving IT needs of our academic community.
- Proven experience in SharePoint administration, Office 365 administration, Microsoft Exchange administration
- Significant general IT experience, showcasing a broad skill set
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of the higher education sector
- Ability to quickly learn new software systems and share that knowledge with others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and students
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint, MCSA: Office 365, MECP) are a plus
- Experience in Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECP)
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining access control hardware including electronic door readers, control panels and boards, and communication back to a central software system such as AccessIT! / Avigilon / Genetec / Lenel etc.
