Who we're looking for:

We are seeking a Principal System Architect with extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise cybersecurity architectures. You will provide daily technical supervision and strategic direction to system architects and staff, ensuring alignment with program objectives. The Principal System Architect role requires leadership in architecture design, compliance with federal standards and the ability to guide large-scale enterprise system initiatives. What you'll be doing:

  • Provide daily technical supervision and direction to senior system architects and staff.
  • Advise the project manager and assist with workload distribution across system teams.
  • Define enterprise information requirements through analysis and collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Produce design architectures that integrate software, hardware and communications, addressing current and future cross-functional requirements.
  • Ensure architecture solutions are compatible with and compliant to industry and federal standards.
  • Design and implement enterprise cybersecurity capabilities, including Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), in alignment with Zero Trust principles.
  • Develop baseline configurations and validate implementation success and ongoing configuration changes.
  • Create and maintain policies consistent with CISA maturity models and NIST standards.

What you need to know:

  • Enterprise architecture design, integration and lifecycle management.
  • Application of cryptography and PQC in large-scale enterprise systems.
  • Industry and federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Architecture analysis, requirements development and cross-functional systems design.
  • Leadership and mentorship for technical teams and architects.

Must have's:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering.
  • (ISC)2 Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise systems architecture.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise cybersecurity architectures that include PQC.
  • Proven ability to develop requirements, baseline configurations and validate enterprise cybersecurity capability implementations.
  • Experience creating policies aligned with CISA maturity models and NIST standards.
