Summary:
Handles complex designing and drafting assignments necessary to support engineering studies and reports. Creates models and technical drawings of structural, mechanical, electrical equipment, systems, assemblies, exploded views, and schematic diagrams from written and verbal specifications obtained from Project Engineer(s). Works with Engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and design documentation. Works closely with Designers, Drafters, and Engineers to ensure coordinated design effort is maintained. Completes project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule. Reviews drawings for completeness and accuracy. Maintains all revisions of project drawings. Updates and maintain drafting log. Develops 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings. Examines and checks engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications. Provides timely technical assistance and solutions. Participates in project meetings and conference calls as required. Prepares engineering documents for customer submittal. Provides leadership and guidance when questions arise, and reviews completed work for accuracy.
Skill Required:
Senior skill set includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tier
Education/Certifications - requirements based on position level
BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or related field + 10 years of experience
OR
Ms degree + 7 years of experience
OR
PHD + 4 years of experience
Certification:
Must be registered/certified or equivalent as appropriate for profession.
