Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe developer for a contract with a client in Plano, TX. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing mainframe batch processes and ensuring timely job execution through ESP scheduling.
Rate Range: $41/hour to 56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Mainframe developer job responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL programs to support business applications and batch processing.
- Create and manage JCL scripts to execute mainframe jobs efficiently and troubleshoot job failures.
- Schedule and monitor batch jobs using ESP, ensuring timely and accurate job execution across environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, perform impact analysis, and implement changes.
- Perform code reviews and unit testing to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Provide production support and issue resolution for mainframe applications and scheduled jobs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in mainframe development.
- Proven expertise in COBOL, JCL, and ESP scheduling is mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support and troubleshoot complex batch processes in a production environment.
