Position:  Sales Representative

Location: Lincolnshire, IL

 

Job Description:

This position focuses on managing and expanding existing accounts, supporting national rep agencies, and driving strategic growth initiatives. You’ll handle pricing updates, forecasting, reporting, and customer engagement while representing the company at industry events and customer trade shows.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being both analytical and customer-facing — a true 50/50 hybrid.

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive aftermarket sales; automotive lighting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Excel, CRM systems, and forecasting tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing or coordinating with rep agencies.
  • Ability to travel nationally 25–40% of the time.
  • Comfortable representing the company at trade shows, customer events, and rep meetings.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and follows through.
  • Confident, professional, and comfortable being the “face” of the company at events.
  • Collaborative mindset with an understanding of how sales impacts other departments.
  • Enjoys both data analysis and customer interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow revenue within existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and SKU expansion.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for national sales rep agencies; set expectations and hold reps accountable.
  • Prepare and distribute annual pricing updates while ensuring margin targets are met.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly sales reports with actionable insights, including trend analysis and opportunity sizing.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and track performance against targets.
  • Conduct customer visits across the U.S., present new products, and build long-term relationships.
  • Represent the company at major industry trade shows (including a large annual event in November) and customer-hosted events in February and June.
  • Coordinate booth setup, product displays, and post-event follow-up.
  • Collaborate closely with purchasing, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
  • Create and share detailed meeting notes within 48 hours of customer visits, trade shows, and rep meetings.
  • Support new product launches and coordinate marketing materials for rep and customer presentations.

  • Builds rapport with national sales reps and key internal teams.
  • Learns the product line and begins identifying trends and opportunities through reporting.
  • Establishes a proactive communication rhythm with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Begins planning and executing customer visits and rep meetings independently.
