Job Details

Qualifications:

  • 3 7 years of professional experience in a data analyst or data governance-related role
  • Familiarity with data management principles, data lineage, metadata management, and reference/master data concepts
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including meeting facilitation and note-taking
  • Experience gathering business and data requirements from cross-functional teams
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote work environment
  • Proficiency in documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Excel, Lucidchart, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK)
  • Experience with data catalog or data quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.)
  • Familiarity with SQL or basic data profiling tools a plus
  • System & Data Inventory: Document source systems, databases, reports, and integrations across business units - starting with Finance
  • Data Mapping & Lineage: Trace how data flows between systems (what fields, frequency, direction), produce metadata for lineage diagrams
  • Process & Requirements Gathering: arrange and minute meetings with business stakeholders (underwriting, claims, finance, compliance) to capture data requirements, definitions, and pain points
  • Ref & Master Data Cataloging: record critical reference/master data elements (e.g., policy, customer, product, broker) and their owners
  • Documentation: Maintain data documentation (Confluence pages?) and trackers to summarize findings; prepare draft deliverables for review
  • Support for Roadmap: Assemble gap analysis inputs and options to feed into strategic recommendations

Tooling Evaluation Support: Research candidate tools (catalog, quality, integration) and summarize fit against requirements
