Hi

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AS400 Developer with strong expertise in Healthcare (PBM / RxClaim) applications, RPG/COBOL development, and EDI 834/837 file processing. The candidate will play a key role in claims adjudication, eligibility, and benefits management systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high performance in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance AS400/iSeries applications using RPG, RPGLE, COBOL/400, CLLE, and SQL/400.

  • Support PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) systems, specifically RxClaim adjudication workflows.

  • Process and integrate EDI transactions (834/837) for eligibility, enrollment, and claims processing.

  • Work with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues related to claims adjudication and eligibility processing.

  • Develop and maintain batch and interactive programs for healthcare applications.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and other healthcare regulatory standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Business Analysts) in Agile/Waterfall environments.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans, and release notes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with IBM iSeries / AS400 platform.

  • Proficiency in RPG (RPGLE, RPG IV, Free Form RPG), COBOL/400, CLLE, SQL/400, DB2.

  • Hands-on experience with PBM systems, RxClaim adjudication, and eligibility workflows.

  • Strong knowledge of EDI 834 (enrollment/eligibility) and EDI 837 (claims) transactions.

  • Experience in production support, defect resolution, and performance optimization.

  • Familiarity with batch processing, job scheduling, and MQ/FTP integration.

  • Understanding of SDLC, Agile, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOX, CMS guidelines).
