Job Title: Senior .NET Application Modernization Project Lead

Location: Remote - Quarterly travel to Columbia, SC up to 5 days

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Job Description - 

We are seeking a Systems Software Programmer – Project Lead to support modernization and remediation of legacy administrative systems recently migrated to the Client’s IT Data Center. This role focuses on upgrading platforms, ensuring compliance with security standards, and implementing industry best practices for business continuity. You’ll work closely with technical staff, subject matter experts, and project managers to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

 

Daily Responsibilities

  • Modernize legacy systems to ASP.NET MVC/Core environments
  • Modify applications for compliance with agency/state security standards (NIST 800-53, FISMA, SC InfoSec)
  • Migrate systems from DB2 to SQL databases
  • Streamline backend processes and retire mainframe forms
  • Perform complex programming, debugging, and Tier 2 support
  • Ensure system uptime, disaster recovery readiness, and browser compatibility
  • Collaborate on architecture design, documentation, and project milestones
  • Provide updates, follow SDLC best practices, and maintain Git-based source control

 

Required Skills (with experience expectations)

  • ASP.NET, MS MVC Framework, C#, Visual Studio – 7+ years
  • .NET Framework (4.5/4.8), JQUERY, AJAX – 5+ years
  • SQL & DB2 database development/migration – 5+ years
  • Web services integration – 5+ years
  • Git source control – 3+ years
  • RDLC Reporting, Power BI – 3+ years

Preferred Skills

  • Subversion (Source Control)
  • Experience with administrative systems (HR, financial billing, PI/PHI data security)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive working relationships

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, OR equivalent work experience
