We empower Netflix studios to bring creative excellence to life, build tools to bring operational excellence and accomplish economies of scale. Our solutions aim to elevate the ROI of the $15 billion dollars spent on content creation through cost/time efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. We also provide technology to manage end-user access and build tools that help with resourcing workflows resulting in the production and delivery of the highest-quality content.

We are seeking an individual possessing a platform-minded approach to construct backend services that cater to the escalating demands of Netflix Original Movie Production. The role involves substantial ownership and responsibility, encompassing the development of platforms that support hundreds of clients and services throughout the entire production lifecycle, from pitch to play.

We would love to work with you if:

  • You're an expert-level programmer and kept up to date with the evolution of the Object-Oriented languages (Java preferred) and related frameworks.
  • You understand the challenges of large-scale distributed computing and the know-how to code for high availability, fault tolerance, throughput, and performance.
  • You have experience with Concurrent, Event-driven systems.
  • You have expertise in building highly scalable, distributed, loosely coupled systems.
  • You are strongly motivated to pick up new domains and ship high-quality, well-tested code.
  • You are a proactive and effective communicator, adept at working with various teams and leading initiatives with little to no direct supervision.
  • You truly believe that diversity is key to a team's health and success.


Bonus Points if:

  • You understand build/bake/deploy systems for cloud applications.
  • You have development experience with Spring and you're familiar with Graph APIs.
  • You have experience building tools or modeling data for movie industry applications.


Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
