Role: Senior SQL Server/Database Developer

Location: Jersey City, NJ/ Atlanta, GA/Hybrid

 

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled SQL Server Database to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing SQL databases while also overseeing the integration and functioning of these databases within our application environment. This dual role requires a strong technical foundation in database structure, configuration, and tuning, as well as the ability to manage databases to support our application development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop database structures, stored procedures, views, and functions to support application development projects.
  • Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with application developers to integrate SQL databases with existing and new applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls and encryption, to safeguard against unauthorized access or data breaches.
  • Conduct regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and integrity checks to ensure data accuracy and availability.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply fine-tuning adjustments to SQL queries and indices for enhanced efficiency.
  • Assist in capacity planning, SQL server layout, and configuration to support business scalability requirements.
  • Develop and enforce database development standards and best practices to ensure quality and consistency across the database environment.
  • Provide support and guidance during the application release cycle, including deployment and post-deployment activities.

 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 12+ Years of SQL Database Developer experience is required
  • Strong experience with SQL Server Application development
  • Good experience in T-SQL Programming
  • Strong experience in writing queries, stored procedures, functions, joins
  • Experience in Database design & partitioning of tables.
  • Experience in Performance tuning.
  • Experience in data modeling is preferred.
  • Experience in Banking domain is required.
