Job Title: ATAS- Automation Developer 5G Applications (Nokia)
Location: Frisco (TX)/ Overland Park (Kansas)
Duration: 12+ months

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Automation Developer with direct experience in Nokia 5G applications to support Day 1 onboarding and Day 2 operations of telco cloud-native workloads on cloud platforms, preferably Red Hat OpenShiftor similar Kubernetes-based infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining deployment automation, observability integrations, and operational tooling for Nokia 5G apps, ensuring scalable, resilient, and maintainable deployments across the network cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

Day 1 Onboarding Automation:

  • Automate the deployment and configuration of Nokia 5G cloud-native applications (e.g., AMF, SMF, UPF, AUSF, UDM, gNB).
  • Develop and maintain automation artifacts such as Helm charts, Ansible roles, or Terraform modules.
  • Collaborate with network architects and platform teams to validate compatibility with Red Hat OpenShift or other supported platforms.
  • Integrate applications with underlying telco and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and compliance with SLAs.

Day 2 Monitoring & Issue Management:

  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for Nokia applications using Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, etc.
  • Automate post-deployment validation, self-healing routines, and anomaly detection workflows.
  • Investigate, triage, and resolve recurring issues across application lifecycle and platform dependencies.
  • Define operational runbooks, diagnostics tools, and root cause analysis (RCA) procedures to support incident resolution and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in automation development or DevOps for cloud-native applications.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying and automating Nokia 5G applications in telco environments.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift platform.
  • Expertise with automation tools such as Ansible, Helm, Terraform, and scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.
  • Strong experience with monitoring and observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Fluentd, Grafana, Elasticsearch).
  • Solid grasp of 5G Core architecture, network functions, and deployment best practices in virtualized/cloud-native networks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Nokia CloudBand or any of Nokia's orchestration/management tools.
  • Hands-on knowledge of service assurance for telco-grade environments.
  • Familiarity with container security, policy governance (OPA, Kyverno), and GitOps practices.
  • Exposure to network slicing, service chaining, or NEF/APIs in 5G core.

  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging abilities.
  • Clear and concise communication with cross-functional and customer-facing teams.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced telecom cloud environment.
