Network Engineer - Network Operations Center

Location: Malvern, PA
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Engineer - Network Operations Center

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 network operational support, including large-scale installations and special projects.
• Participate in major incident management, identifying performance issues and trends (e.g., failing components, firewall blocks, traffic tracing).
• Interpret network diagrams, documentation, and policies during troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with IT and Information Security policies and procedures.
• Manage and maintain accurate records in Incident, Problem, and Change Management systems.
• Proactively monitor and assess records for potential network impact.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities for manual tasks.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for device maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 2-4 years of hands-on network operations experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience in financial services environments preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.
• Intermediate experience with:
  • Packet analyzers (e.g., Infinistream Sniffer, APCON)
  • Network technologies: Cisco IOS, Nexus OS, Juniper Junos, Cisco ACI, F5 Load Balancing, WAN, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, AWS Direct Connect
  • Platforms: Brocade Switches, Cisco, Juniper Routers, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Firewalls, Aruba Wi-Fi, F5 Big IP
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Palo Alto PCNSA / PCNSE certification
• AWS or Azure Cloud certification
