THE POSITIONOur roster has an opening with your name on it

FanDuel is seeking a Senior Manager, TV Technology Engineering, to define and lead the strategic direction of our end-to-end broadcast and streaming infrastructure. As a senior individual contributor, you will serve as the principal architect responsible for shaping the technology roadmap across studio production, live and linear broadcast, postproduction, media asset management, playout, and direct-to-consumer streaming platforms. This role is pivotal in aligning media technology with business priorities, driving innovation, and ensuring platform resilience, scalability, and regulatory compliance. You will partner closely with senior leadership across Technology, Product, Marketing, Data Science, and Commercial teams to deliver forward-thinking solutions that enhance FanDuel's media delivery capabilities across all channels. This is a high-visibility position ideal for a deeply experienced technologist with the vision, credibility, and technical depth to influence at scale and build the future of FanDuel.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play
  • Define and lead strategic broadcast and streaming initiatives across studio, linear, and OTT platforms, aligning project outcomes with broader business goals.
  • Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and KPIs in close partnership with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the optimization of workflows, systems architecture, and cross-functional communication models.
  • Architect and evolve broadcast infrastructure with an emphasis on resilience, scalability, and minimal customer impact.
  • Champion engineering standards, documentation accuracy (AutoCAD, Confluence), and project accountability across systems.
  • Own the development and governance of processes related to project intake, prioritization, and escalation.
  • Serve as the key strategic contributor to technical planning, systems innovation, and operational excellence across TV Technology.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline - or equivalent experience designing and operating production-grade media systems at scale.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience architecting and deploying hybrid broadcast and cloud-based media infrastructures, with proven expertise in both traditional on-prem systems (SDI, SD/HD/4K workflows, MCR, PCR) and modern IP/cloud workflows (AWS Elemental, MediaConnect, MediaLive, MediaPackage).
  • Expert-level understanding of professional broadcast standards and time synchronization protocols including SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, ST 2059, IEEE 1588 PTP, and legacy SDI baseband systems - with demonstrated experience designing seamless transition architectures between legacy and IP environments.
  • Advanced fluency in real-time media transport and adaptive streaming protocols, including SRT, RIST, RTP with SMPTE 2022-7, HLS, CMAF, DASH, WebRTC, WHIP/WHEP - with experience configuring latency-optimized, redundant delivery pipelines for live production.
  • Strong working knowledge of video and mezzanine codecs, including H.264, H.265/HEVC, JPEG 2000, JPEG-XS, DNxHD, ProRes - and deep familiarity with container formats such as MXF (OP1a), MOV, and MPEG-TS.
  • Ability to help design, document, and deploy REST API-first solutions for controlling, monitoring, and integrating broadcast and streaming systems, enabling interoperability and automation across internal and third-party services.
  • Experience with timing-critical workflows involving timecode (VITC/LTC), frame-accurate switching, NTP, and synchronization across multi-region or distributed production environments.
  • Skilled in infrastructure as code and media workflow automation, using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, and CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).
  • Comfortable documenting and managing complex signal paths using AutoCAD, signal flow charts, and production schematics - and maintaining structured documentation in Confluence and JIRA.
  • Prior experience building secure, compliant systems in regulated or high-reliability environments, such as sports broadcasting, betting/gaming, finance, or healthcare.
  • Excellent communicator and systems thinker - able to partner with engineering, postproduction, operations, and executive stakeholders to influence architecture and investment decisions.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with SCTE-35/SCTE-104 ad signaling, OTT DRM, edge encoding workflows, and dynamic playout systems (e.g., Imagine, Grass Valley, Evertz, Amagi).
