Technical Support Specialist

About the Role

We’re seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide frontline IT support in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting, system maintenance, and customer service for both faculty and professional users. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical support for Windows and macOS systems, ensuring fast, accurate issue resolution.

  • Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity problems across desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

  • Maintain and update classroom or conference technology, performing firmware, OS, and software updates.

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for escalated Help Desk incidents.

  • Manage asset inventory and assist in equipment procurement and setup.

  • Support data backup and recovery processes to protect organizational information.

  • Assist with system migrations, new equipment rollouts, and other infrastructure projects.

  • Participate in after-hours or remote support on a rotational basis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • 3–5 years in an IT support role serving a large user base (academic, enterprise, or similar environment).

  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and macOS operating systems, imaging, and patch management.

  • Strong understanding of hardware components, networking basics (TCP/IP, subnets, connectivity).

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain professionalism under pressure.

  • Self-starter with strong follow-through and a collaborative mindset.

  • Nice to have: experience supporting AV systems, classroom technology, or hybrid learning environments.
