Role Overview:

As the Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead the firm's platform team, collaborating closely with software and systems engineers, business analysts, and application architects. Your team will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying technology solutions that support the firm's mission. Success in this role requires creative problem-solving, strong communication skills, and proactive technical leadership. You'll thrive in a fast-paced, agile, and distributed development environment, working cross-functionally with both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the strategic roadmap for the platform, overseeing the delivery of complex, multi-system projects.
  • Partner with product owners and stakeholders to define short- and long-term strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure cohesive architecture and drive process improvements for platform efficiency.
  • Facilitate resolution of complex technical issues while ensuring adherence to the firm's coding, testing, and documentation standards.
  • Translate intricate business requirements into clear technical specifications to guide development teams.
  • Lead data management and reporting initiatives to maintain a stable and scalable platform.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment, supporting shared goals and promoting knowledge sharing.


Team Leadership:
  • Directly manage a software development team, providing mentorship and performance guidance.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • 8+ years of experience delivering technology solutions with real-world examples and best practices.
  • 6+ years of experience in IT, Security, or GRC solution implementation and management.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and data analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations.
  • Technologically curious with a strong grasp of platform capabilities and architecture principles.

Preferred:
  • Experience in the regulated financial services sector.


Technical Skills:

Required:
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and familiarity with cloud-based tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Workday, Oracle Cloud).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of IT processes and best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development and effective SCRUM methodologies.


Certifications (Preferred):
  • ServiceNow Certified Master Architect
  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • ITIL Certification
  • CISA Certification


Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science
