Job Details

Luna Data Solutions is seeking an IT Operations Project Manager for a contract opportunity in Austin.
 

  • Duration until September 30, 2026; may be extended into FY27
  • Hybrid, resources are currently working mostly remotely with onsite at least once a week, however this frequency might vary based on job/project needs
  • 8 am to 5 pm (flexible) Monday through Friday

Notes from Hiring Manager:

  • Number one skill set is ability to develop relationships and build rapport (first 2 months will want this resource to be onsite 2-3 days a week building relationships, then will be onsite once a week)
  • Does not matter if managed small, medium or large projects, this role will manage small/med size projects 6 months or shorter in duration
  • Example given: decommission servers, would interface with Network and DB teams
  • Detail oriented, project documentation especially regarding interaction with Change Approval Board
  • Need experience with MS Project, MS SharePoint, MS Office
  • In-person interview between 11/17 and 11/21


Seeking an experienced IT Ops Project Manager to conduct project planning, project monitoring, and project status reporting. This position will lead small IT operational projects/efforts with cross functional teams and their managers to request the resources/participants needed to achieve project goals. The successful applicant shall be expected to build strong relationship across the various IT teams.
 
Required Skills
 

  • 4+ years of experience leading and managing IT Operational projects from initiation to closure, including scope, schedule, tasks, budget adherence, and resource management, while providing comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle and ensuring successful project handover.
  • 4+ years of experience developing and managing the following Project deliverables: project scope document, project schedule/plan, communication plans, cost estimates/analysis, Change Approval Board (CAB) documents, training plans, contingency plans, and post implementation transition/support plans.
  • 4+ years of experience leading and clearly communicating project expectations and project progress to sponsors, team members, and stakeholders, through project status meetings, and up-to-date project status reports.
  • 4+ years of experience Identifying and managing project milestones, dependencies, critical path, risks, issues, and develop contingency plans as necessary. 
  • 4+ years of experience requesting and managing project resources, facilitating collaboration across IT teams and departments, and coordinate/assign tasks to meet project objectives.
  • 4+ years of technical writing experience compiling formal business documentation around a regulated industry.
  • 4+ years of experience using MS Project to track progress of tasks, deliverables and milestones.
  • 4+ years of proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point, MS Teams, SharePoint, Visio, and Webex.

Preferred Skills
 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
