Job Title: Payments Business Analyst (Hybrid - Mississauga)
Location: Hybrid (Mississauga, ON)
Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Description:
We are seeking a Payments Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving the evolution of payment solutions for large multinational clients. This role focuses on payment processing, liquidity management, and digital transformation, requiring expertise in ISO 20022, SWIFT, and modern payment ecosystems (UPI, FedNow, SEPA, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements & Solution Design
- Partner with business users, systems owners, and engineers to define financial, operational, and technical requirements for payment systems.
- Translate business needs into functional/technical specifications, user stories, and interface control documents (ICDs) in JIRA.
- Lead solution walkthroughs with Engineering Managers, CQEs, and stakeholders.
- Payments Expertise
- Work extensively on projects involving:
- Payment Processing & Liquidity Management (high-value/low-value rails).
- Core Cash Management for MNCs.
- Data Warehousing for payment analytics.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Payment Standards: ISO 20022, SWIFT, local schemes (e.g., UPI, FedNow, Interac, SEPA).
- Industry Trends: Digital wallets, tokenization, mobile banking, real-time payments.
- Drive legacy system migrations and digital transformation initiatives.
- Agile Delivery
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters, RTEs, and cross-functional teams for sprint planning and execution.
- Ensure alignment with business goals through iterative feedback and prioritization.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst in Payments/Cash Management.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 20022, SWIFT, and regional payment systems (e.g., UPI, RTP, SEPA).
- Proven ability to document user stories, ICDs, and process flows.
- Familiarity with JIRA, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to cloud-based payment platforms (e.g., APIs, microservices).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance (e.g., PSD2, AML).
- Certifications: CBAP, PMP, or Agile certifications.
