Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking a Power Supply Validation Engineer who can assist with the product design, review, and validation of server power supply and related products. The candidate will be responsible to provide technical specifications, to test configurations to verify the power systems' stability and reliability. This individual will be required to work cross-department and assist product managers as needed in product design and development. The ideal engineer shall have 2+ years ITE server or power supply related experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):
Perform power supply, dc to dc converter, battery system, application validation testing
Conduct functional and compatibility testing on various server system application
Duplicate customers power and system related issues and perform failure analysis
Perform server power management application functional testing
Collaborate with engineers and designers to discover and resolve any design, signal integrity, or quality related issues
Assist with the development of newly designed power supply and related products.
Evaluate and debug design prototypes on the bench and generate detailed engineering reports with waveform captures showing findings and recommendations.
To operate power supply test equipment, oscilloscope, temperature sensors, Chroma AC source, DC load, power meter, automated tester, etc.
To operate soldering iron for circuit modification, probing, and etc.
Support Power Supply Product Manager for technical support

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
BSEE/MSEE or related degree with Electrical engineering background
Familiar with server and computer architecture
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skill in both written and verbal
Self-motivated, team player with ability to work in fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of direct experience with server power supply or server systems design
Familiar with using oscilloscope, probing with high voltage devices, operating Chroma test equipment.
Understanding of 3 phase AC electrical concept and measurement.
Familiar Linux, IPMI application.
Familiar I2C, SMbus, PMbus application and usage.
Familiar with HPC, data center, electrical systems, power supply design, etc.
Technical knowledge of designing and implementing Server system

Salary Range

$104,000 - $139,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
