Job Details
Key Responsibilities
- Test and review web forms across multiple browsers and devices for WCAG 2.1/2.2 (Levels A and AA)
- Use assistive technologies such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and Adobe Acrobat to evaluate accessibility.
- Identify and document issues related to:
- Keyboard navigation and focus order
- Label associations and ARIA usage
- Color contrast
- Error handling and validation
- Create detailed accessibility defect reports, referencing specific WCAG success criteria and severity.
- Provide actionable remediation recommendations to developers and design teams.
- Retest issues post-remediation to validate accessibility compliance and ensure business logic is unaffected.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving accessibility laws, standards, and best practices.
- Review and evaluate basic code (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ARIA attributes) as related to form accessibility.
- Collaborate with DOR s TSD team to ensure accessibility is embedded in the design and development process.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience testing or providing accessibility guidance for web forms/documents (ADA, 508, WCAG).
- Proficiency with accessibility tools: Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, ANDI, Color Contrast Analyzer.
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2 success criteria (e.g., 1.3.1, 3.3.1 3.3.4, 4.1.2).
- Hands-on experience with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation.
- Ability to evaluate code, particularly JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and ARIA
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to document technical findings clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)
- IAAP CPACC certification (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies).
- Knowledge of legal accessibility requirements (ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549).
- Experience in government compliance and accessibility testing.
