About the Role

The Eats Core Consumer team owns the core user experience funnel from Storefront to Item Details to Cart to Checkout and on to Order Tracking and Completion. This is a high visibility, high impact role that will shape our ability to build end to end user experiences. This role will be able to think about users from an internal and external perspective. Deep thinking and understanding of the end consumer as well as leveraging technical unlocks so internal teams can drive segmented and personalized experiences across the core Eats flow.

What the Candidate Will Do:

1. Collaborate and work within a team with other engineers, Product Managers, Designers and others to build towards the roadmap..
2. Contribute to engineering culture in terms of quality, monitoring, and on-call practices.
3. Uplevel and enhance the engineering team via mentorship, best practices, and role modeling.
4. Participate in and lead wider organizational efforts for Delivery and Uber overall.
5. Identify value and create efficiencies and teach others to do this as well.
6. Provide technical leadership to the full engineering team up to and including the Staff level engineers.

Basic Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of software engineering experience
2. Strong problem-solving skills, with expertise in algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
3. Experience with distributed systems
4. Resilience, determination, ownership mindset, and a keen appetite for collaborative efforts
5. Depth in Backend (Golang) or Web
6. Consumer Product experience

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 12+ years engineering experience
2. Experience working at large companies (10k+)
3. Experience working with distributed teams
4. ML / Personalization experience
5. Product platform experience

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$257,000 per year - USD$285,500 per year.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$257,000 per year - USD$285,500 per year.
