Objectives of this Role:
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of technologies and tools used in software development, including build servers, version control systems, and automated testing frameworks.
- Provide comprehensive lifecycle support for software development and DevOps tools, including but not limited to Nexus, TeamCity, GitLab, TeamTrack, Jira, YouTrack, Kubernetes, and Docker. Responsibilities include managing licenses, permissions, installations, patches, and updates
- Collaborate with development staff to enhance DevOps and continuous integration tools and environments.
- Participate in the design and implementation of DevOps solutions to support various tasks.
- Utilize scripting to automate tasks, including testing, build processes, software installation, system configuration, and file and directory management, among others as needed.
- Promotes and exhibits an understanding of Agile delivery models with experience implementing Agile practices as related to continuous integration.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day maintenance: security and other updates, ACLs, scheduled maintenance, backup and restore, server hardware monitoring and maintenance, scripting, and automation of repetitive tasks.
- Monitor and manage the ticket queue, ensuring a clear and concise timely response and resolution of support requests and issues.
- Collaboration activities: interfacing with division IT teams, submitting and monitoring tickets, collaborating to meet requirements, and coordinating group activities.
- Guiding improvements: improving documentation, identifying patterns in support requests, proposing solutions, assisting with tool selection and evaluation, helping to craft security and tool management policies.
- Proactively evaluating tools and technologies to meet future needs.
- Activities will include work primarily at SwRI facilities.
- Some updates and maintenance are required after normal business hours or on weekends (as needed).
Requirements:
- Requires an Associates or a Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science.
- 2+ years: Familiarity with continuous integration tools and source code revision control tools is highly desired. Experience installing, maintaining, administering, and supporting enterprise applications.
- 10 years: Related professional level experience required in lieu of Bachelors degree.
- 2 years: Self-directed critical thinking with good verbal and technical writing skills. Have experience supporting user questions and issues.
- 2 years: Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems. Current DoD security clearance is highly desired.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
