Job Title: GIS Developer

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Duration: 6+ Months (Tentative)

Job Summary: We are seeking a GIS Developer to join a team delivering enterprise-level geospatial solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong programming experience, particularly with Python and JavaScript, and proven expertise in developing geospatial applications within the ESRI stack. This role involves building web and scripting applications, managing enterprise geodatabases, and integrating systems across multiple platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop geospatial web applications and scripting solutions within the ESRI environment.

  • Create custom widgets, geoprocessing services, ETL processes, and integrations with other platforms.

  • Manage enterprise geodatabases, database servers, web servers, and cloud-based infrastructure.

  • Plan, test, install, implement, and support GIS solutions while maintaining comprehensive documentation.

  • Gather complete business requirements, ensure stakeholder approval, and maintain a prioritized backlog of requests.

  • Assist with resource planning, time management, and workstream prioritization.

  • Provide code and/or writing samples as part of the application.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with all aspects of ArcGIS Enterprise and cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure).

  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.

  • Knowledge of transportation planning principles is a plus.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build cooperative relationships across diverse teams and agencies.

Technical Skills & Software Requirements:

  • ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise/Server (v10.9.1+)

  • ESRI ArcGIS Pro (v2.9+)

  • Experience with ESRI tools: LRS, Workflow Manager, Image Server, Reality, Velocity, Monitor, GeoEvent.

  • Cloud environment administration of ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server, etc.).

  • Application and database development expertise.

  • Data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Voyager, dashboards, web maps).

  • Automation experience (FME, VertiGIS Studio, Python, Geoprocessing, SQL).

  • Exposure to AI/ML model training and deployment.

  • Web frameworks and programming (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, .NET).

  • Project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple workstreams.
