Job Description

Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Biopharmaceutical Accelerator (CARB-X) is a global non-profit partnership dedicated to accelerating antibacterial research to tackle the global rising threat of drug-resistant bacteria. The CARB-X portfolio is the world's largest early development pipeline of new antibiotics, vaccines, rapid diagnostics and other products to prevent, diagnose and treat life-threatening bacterial infections. CARB-X is grant-funded and currently supported by multiple government and foundation funders plus in-kind contributions. Boston University School of Law is the home of CARB-X and the heart of its operations. The CARB-X environment is innovative, dynamic, energetic, and rapidly evolving. CARB-X is seeking a Salesforce Administrator and Business Analyst with 4+ years of experience to facilitate all aspects of user enablement. This position will provide tier 1 support to internal and external platform users, contribute to new Salesforce development, and conduct requirements gathering, testing, training, and manage documentation. The successful candidate will have Salesforce administration experience and a background in all aspects of Software Development Lifecycle management, including collecting and documenting requirements, testing, and creating and leading training. The position can be entirely virtual but must be able to work (at least partially) in ET and CET time zones.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Business analysis
Document business processes and technical training across all functional areas of CARB-X including application and invoice intake and review, project and portfolio management, financial management, external reporting requirements, conflicts of interest disclosures, external affairs, and communications. Meet with business users at all organizational levels to define and document requirements. Estimate scope and effort and translate into technical requirements.

Technical support
Provide tier 1 support for end-users of all organizational levels, primarily on Salesforce (both internal and experience site users) and its integrations (Formstack, Box). Support users on other CARB-X platforms including Box, Slack, Asana, Tableau, and other software, including user provisioning and onboarding. Responsible for communicating with 3rd-party vendor support teams and BU IS&T to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Development
Build and deploy declarative solutions on Salesforce platform including layouts, approval processes, reports, dashboards, permission sets, objects and fields, flows, and other declarative tools. Support user management including the migration from profiles to permission sets. Responsible for QA testing and leading user-acceptance testing. Assist with efforts to minimize technical debt and adhere to industry best practices and internal design standards.

Testing
Define success criteria and perform manual testing primarily on Salesforce and its integrations to ensure high-quality releases, system stability, and system reliability. Facilitate user-acceptance testing by guiding users through test execution, monitoring progress, documenting results and requests, and validating fixes.

Required Skills

Required skills:
  • 4+ years of Salesforce Administrator experience.
  • Salesforce Administrator and Platform App Builder certifications or required within 6 months of employment.
  • Strong aptitude for technical skill development.
  • Strong ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Strong time-management abilities and attention to details.
  • Proficiency in managing and completing multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging internally and externally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Works independently and takes initiative.

Preferred skills:
  • Experience working with a remote, dispersed workforce in different time zones.
  • Familiarity with Box, Slack, Asana.
