Senior Engineer

What does a successful Senior Engineer do at Fiserv?

As a Senior Engineer, you will be a valuable technical resource designing and developing enterprise solutions and working with Solution Architects within Fiserv's Merchant reporting team, working on innovative solutions for merchants. You will have an opportunity to work effectively on complex projects independently and within a collaborative environment across but no limited to reporting, gift cards, recurring payments and FX. You will research and suggest modern ways of development using latest UI/UX technologies. You will also work with product managers and other engineers to design and implement new features on the platform.

What you will do:

• Consult with project team and functional units on the design of important projects or services.
• Help support existing business systems applications and demonstrate proficiency and leadership within agile methodologies.
• Design applications, analyze, lead and coordinate business enterprise solutions
• Develop high performance micro services and set ambitious standards of code quality
• Analyze business requirements, crafting functional technical designs, business level documentation and code development
• Collaborate with internal partners to gather business requirements and translate them into a technical solution.
• Set the technical direction for the team using current tools to provide the same business functionality in a more modern architecture

What you will need to have:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with some hands-on experience developing Java, Angular enterprise applications using Spring framework
• 5+ years of experience in software design principles and software architecture
• 5+ years of experience building/developing and supporting RESTful web services
• 5+ years of experience with Spring Boot REST APIs, SQL, POSTGRES
• 5+ years of experience with back-end databases including Oracle or Postgres
• 3+ years of experience working with Eclipse/IntelliJ and Unix scripting languages, tools, and frameworks
• 3+ years of experience working with AWS technologies
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

• Experience in Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.0 and end-to-end (E2E) solutions and knowledge of DevOps Pipeline, GIT, JIRA, Confluence
• Knowledge of financial technologies, standards, and industry regulations (i.e., Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) are highly preferred
• Experience with Cloud deployment platforms such as Cloud Foundry, AWS, and knowledge of and experience with JIRA and Confluence products
• Prior technical lead role experience and experience with Splunk, Cloud Watch, Xray
• Experience with AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Agentic AI, AI-Enhanced Testing, Code Generation & Completion

Salary Range

$87,200.00 - $155,700.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey, New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
