AS400 / SYNON Senior Developer
Remote Contract Position
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced AS400 SYNON Senior Developer with deep expertise in PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong functional knowledge of core adjudication and pricing systems, along with extensive hands-on development experience in CA/2E (SYNON) and COBOL on AS400/iSeries environments. This role involves both technical leadership and hands-on development in an Agile delivery model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret functional and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and capability teams to refine requirements.
- Provide technical leadership while actively contributing to development activities.
- Design and build scalable, efficient, and high-quality solutions.
- Identify and implement performance tuning and application optimization opportunities.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and delivery processes.
- Lead and coordinate teams in an onshore/offshore delivery model.
- Engage with clients for requirement clarification and solution discussions.
- Contribute to continuous integration, improvement initiatives, and team learning.
- Support and influence the team s functional and technical technology roadmap.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong functional expertise in PBM systems, including core adjudication, pricing, accumulators, Medicare Part D pricing, benefit plans, patient pay, and regulatory compliance.
- 15+ years of hands-on development experience using CA/2E (SYNON), including array handling, commit control, and program design.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL on AS400/iSeries (COBOL/400 or COBOL ILE).
- Solid experience with DB2/400 database environments.
- Exposure to ACMS/MOM integration frameworks.
- Strong proficiency with CLLE and SQL.
- Education: At least a bachelor s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required for the project
