The Senior Data Architect position is based in a fast-paced, dynamic corporate office setting that demands the ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple ongoing projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures leveraging cloud technologies (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Snowflake).
- Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data strategies, including metadata management, operational data stores, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Evaluate and optimize existing data architectures for performance, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Establish standards and best practices for data modeling, integration, and data management across the organization.
- Lead the design and development of cloud-native data platforms and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data stewards, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into logical and physical data models.
- Drive data governance initiatives including data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, and stewardship.
- Create and maintain an enterprise data asset catalog and enforce consistent data definitions across business units.
- Define data storage, consumption, and integration patterns to support modern analytics and AI/ML use cases.
- Partner with enterprise architects to ensure alignment with the overall architecture roadmap.
- Provide guidance and support to database administrators, data engineers, and development teams in data platform design and management.
- Advocate for data quality, accessibility, and discoverability through proper documentation and tooling.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture experience, including large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing modern data architectures (cloud, distributed systems, data lakes, and warehouses).
- Deep knowledge of data modeling techniques (relational, dimensional, NoSQL, graph), normalization principles, and best practices.
- Strong background in data governance, metadata management, and master data management (MDM).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure, Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), and Snowflake.
- Proficient in SQL and Python for data processing and transformation.
- Familiarity with modern BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
- Knowledge of database administration and performance tuning (SQL Server).
- Experience with enterprise data warehouse (EDW) solutions and building end-to-end data pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with machine learning or graph analytics is a plus.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES, AND LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Certification in data management (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) is highly desirable.
- Certifications in cloud platform technologies such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Professional Data Engineer are beneficial.
