Knoxville, TN | Manager, Payroll | Full-time

We are actively recruiting a Manager of Payroll for our client in Knoxville, TN. Local candidates in the Knoxville area would be expected to be fully onsite, but this position is also open to remote candidates within traveling distance (Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas would also be considered). The successful candidate will be expected to oversee payroll financials, manage escalated issues, and ensure quality control checks. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate and timely payroll for over 30,000 employees across the US and Canada, with a significant portion being retail employees.

Due to client request, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Payroll Financials: Manage payroll-related financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle Escalated Issues: Address and resolve complex payroll issues that arise.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • System Transition: Currently using Lawson/Infor, transitioning to Workday. Open to candidates with experience in Oracle or other platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to streamline payroll processes.

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Payroll Systems: Experience with ADP, Paychex, Lawson/Infor, Workday, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Corporate Environment: Background in managing payroll for large enterprises, preferably with a high volume of employees.
  • Canadian Payroll: Familiarity with Canadian payroll regulations is a plus; must have some experience in global payroll if no experience in Canadian payroll.
  • Global Standards: Experience with international payroll standards is beneficial.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with payroll systems such as Lawson/Infor, Workday, Oracle, ADP, or Paychex.
  • Proven track record in managing payroll for a large enterprise, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex payroll issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various departments.
