Job Details

Manages, coordinates, and performs many aspects of network resource planning, analysis of needs and services and participates in operation and administration of the LAN/WAN infrastructure. This individual designs/engineers, plans and executes new implementations and new product integrations, and recommends LAN/WAN improvements. Works closely with the IT security team members to plan and implement network and security solutions. Provides senior level engineering support to other technical staff. Plans, executes, and manages complex technical tasks and projects. Maintains communication with Government personnel, hardware/software vendors, and service providers. Oversees maintenance of systems. Responsible for problem identification, recommendations, and solutions, and maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other related discipline and a minimum of 12 years of IT experience with at least 10 years specialized in network engineering. Additional experience can substitute for degree.
Must have comprehensive operational and engineering experience with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, and Nexus family of routers/switches or equivalent routers/switches, load balancers, as well as remote access equipment.
Must have advanced knowledge and experience with Cisco ISE/NAC.
Experience and expertise are required with ManageEngine OPManager or equivalent network management and monitoring systems, IPAM, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, network analysis tools, as well as implementation of multi-gigabit ethernet equipment and systems.
Must be an expert with protocols such as TCP/IP versions 4 and 6, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, network access control systems, hybrid cloud network, Tenable Nessus and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Must be able to design, engineer, implement, and maintain complex network solutions, and must be able to perform complex technical/engineering analysis.
Must be able to create standard operating procedures and network diagrams.
Must be able to configure and physically install network equipment in the data center.
Ability to work onsite daily with the potential of hybrid onsite/remote work schedule. Must be able to support onsite/remote outage needs.
Must be detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and able to prioritize tasks and multi-task.
Must have a positive and patient customer service attitude.
Must be able to lead, train, and supervise junior staff.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Experience supporting a nationwide mid to large Federal agency enterprise is a plus.
CCNP certification required. Additional relevant certifications such as JNCIS/JNCIP, Network+, CCIE are a benefit.
Must be able to obtain agency suitability clearance prior to start.
