We are seeking an AI Platform Engineer to join Zions Bancorporation. The AI Platform Engineer plays a key role in supporting and maintaining Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environments that enable enterprise AI platforms. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, learn best practices, and contribute to the reliability and security of our cloud foundation.

Within this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining cloud environments for reliability, scalability, and security under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Help implement platform enablement strategies, reusable patterns, and automation frameworks.
  • Support the enforcement of cloud governance, security controls, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve platform issues and participate in root cause analysis.
  • Work with business, product, and technology teams to understand platform requirements.
  • Provide technical support to AI teams, including data scientists and ML engineers, on platform usage.
  • Participate in evaluating new technologies and adopting best practices in cloud engineering.
  • Help develop onboarding materials, technical documentation, and training resources for platform users.
  • Take on other duties as assigned to support the team and platform.

Requirements:
  • 0-2 years of experience in cloud engineering or related technical field (internships or academic projects count).
  • Basic understanding of cloud architecture, services, and security principles.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or similar automation tools; exposure to Ansible and Git is a plus.
  • Interest in DevSecOps, automation, and security practices.
  • Foundational knowledge of cloud networking and compliance concepts.
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL) and basic Python scripting for automation is a preferred.
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute to technical initiatives.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Interest in AI protocols, agentic systems, or data engineering is a plus.

Visa Sponsorship:

The AI Platform Engineer position is currently not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.

This position is fully in office (5 days a week) at the Zions Technology Center - 7860 South Bingham Junction Blvd, Midvale, UT 84047
