You'll work closely with our store focused teams to take up challenges on sophisticated issues, design and develop the next generation of our innovative connectivity technologies. You'll collaborate across departments to help craft wireless solutions that elevate our customer's experience with Apple products and services in Apple's Retail stores. As a Wireless Network Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for driving innovation and delivering solutions to Apple's premier retail stores. Your contributions will directly impact the experience of Apple's Customers.

Description A Wireless Network Reliability Engineer, you'll solve, design, and implement wireless infrastructure across Apple Retail Stores, working with IEEE 802.11 standards, encryption protocols, 802.1x, RADIUS, and EAP-TLS, handling multi-vendor solutions. As a Tier 3 escalation point your role involves addressing complex networking challenges, collaborating with vendors, and partnering with Engineering and Architecture to evaluate new technologies. The role requires deep technical skills, a collaborative spirit, and a focus on operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Expertise in wireless solutions, including IEEE 802.11 standards, encryption, WIDS, rogue detection, 802.1x, RADIUS, and EAP-TLS
  • Experienced in high-density wireless network deployments
  • Familiar with wireless technologies from Cisco, Aruba (Wireless Controller, AOS10, IAP, Airwave, ClearPass), Mist Wireless, Meraki Wireless, Cisco ISE, AirOS, IOS-XE, Cisco DNAC, and Splunk
  • Proficient with wireless tools such as Spectrum Analyzers, Protocol Analyzers, RF Planning tools, and Site Survey Tools
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP (IPv4/IPv6), routing, and switching
  • Knowledgeable in wireless client chipset/driver and RF engineering with consideration of regional frequency and power regulations

Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 10 years of hands-on experience with wireless solutions and wireless network infrastructure
  • Proficiency in automation, tooling, and scripting, with preferred expertise in Ansible and Python
  • CCIE certification or equivalent credentials in Wireless technologies
  • Willingness to participate in scheduled off-hour on-call support several weeks per year, with flexibility to handle change requests outside of standard business hours.
