Description
We are looking for an experienced Lead Programmer Analyst to join our team on a contract basis in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to design, implement, and oversee programming solutions for complex client needs. You will also lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring projects are delivered on time and align with departmental standards.
Responsibilities:
Design system solutions and develop enhancements to existing programs based on client requirements.
Lead and coordinate development teams on assigned projects, ensuring effective collaboration and adherence to schedules.
Create, modify, and test online and batch programs to meet user requests and project specifications.
Mentor team members by sharing technical expertise and providing guidance on implementations.
Develop cost estimates for projects and report progress through updates to project control systems.
Ensure all programming and procedures comply with established departmental standards and guidelines.
Collaborate with project requestors to validate business needs and demonstrate completed solutions.
Identify and propose improvements to programming processes to enhance quality and responsiveness.
Notify management promptly regarding any risks to project timelines or operational challenges.
Perform other duties as required to support project goals and team objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience demonstrating attention to detail.
Minimum of 5 years of programming experience, including COBOL across all versions.
At least 5 years of experience in complex project development and implementation.
Proficiency in Tandem utility programs and structured programming techniques.
Strong ability to design and develop efficient, reliable online and batch programs.
Skilled in documentation, training, and adherence to departmental standards.
Effective problem-solving skills to address programming and operational challenges.
Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
