Network Admin
The Network Administrator is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, maintaining, and repairing network systems, subsystems, and servers. This position provides information, direction, and/or recommendations regarding network installations and configurations, resolves network operational issues, and offers technical support to district and site staff.

oKnowledge of current, legacy, and emerging operating systems, environments, and network protocols.
oFamiliarity with router configurations, Inter/Intranet applications, data security, project management processes, and methodology.

oAbility to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events.
oAbility to gather, collate, and/or classify data and consider multiple factors when using equipment.
oFlexibility to work with others in various circumstances and work with data using defined but different processes.
oCapability to handle a wide variety of job-related equipment and data of varied types and purposes.
oAbility to problem-solve with independent interpretation of guidelines and significant equipment-related problem solving.

Essential Functions
1.Network Security: Analyze network security to coordinate disaster preparedness and recommend methods to optimize network performance and security.
2.Installation: Install network software (client and server) across various platforms (e.g., service packs, application software, operating software, hardware upgrades).
3.Maintenance: Maintain network operations and software applications, including routers, data switches, hubs, and transceivers.
4.Project Management: Manage major projects such as system migrations, scheduling installations, and product research to ensure services comply with established guidelines.
5.System Coordination: Oversee network software, operating systems, and client-server programs to distribute software, maintain log-in scripts, user accounts, and system security.
6.Planning & Development: Participate in planning activities, including district-wide committees to create short- and long-term plans for programming support.
7.Documentation: Prepare written materials, including procedures, system-level documentation, and reports to document activities and provide reference.
8.Research & Recommendations: Research trends, products, equipment, and tests to recommend procedures and purchases.
9.Technical Support: Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, school site personnel, and vendors to provide technical assistance.
10.Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network hardware and software malfunctions (e.g., servers, hubs, routers, network protocols) to resolve issues and restore services.
Other Functions
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
