Job Description

The Vehicle eCommerce portfolio provides Web and eCommerce solutions that power the online consumer vehicle shopping and buying experiences for all Ford global markets.

Ford is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with the vehicle eCommerce group, responsible for North American B2C Web Properties. This position will play a key role in supporting Ford's Digital experiences mainly focusing on the Site Reliability.

Responsibilities will include oversight of Ford's Digital Experiences that form the core of Ford.com and associated shopping and purchasing tools as well as a host of supporting applications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for improving the reliability and performance of our systems. The technology footprint includes Web and Full Stack technologies including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Java, REACT, Akamai, Azure, Google Cloud Platform and PCF cloud environments!

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call production support rotations and handle incident response.
  • Continuously monitor Availability, Reliability and Performance by taking a holistic view of our system health, Platform, and applications.
  • Provide primary operational and engineering Support for multiple large, distributed software applications.
  • Automate and manage a highly available and scalable cloud environment that allows development teams to deploy and run their services.
  • Identify and reduce or eliminate toil via automation tools, scripts, and processes to improve the SRE support for our site.
  • Create new terraform or modify the existing file according to Ford formats to create new Monitoring Dashboards and alert policies.
  • Collaborating with engineering and architecture teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions, also leveraging scalability, high-performance and security.
  • Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating for continual improvement.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Full stack websites, Google Cloud Platform, AEM infrastructure, deployment, configuration, and integration.
  • Performing root cause analysis of production incidents and implementing preventive measures
  • Collaborating with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives.

Minimum eligibility requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience and knowledge of Site monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • 3+ years of experience in AEM full-stack development, including building and maintaining AEM-based web applications.
  • 2+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform or other Cloud based architecture.

Primary skills required:
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform/AWS/Azure, Docker/K8, Jenkins, Tekton, Terraform, GitHub, Apigee, React, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, Networking, PCF
  • Experience in AEM technologies, including AEM components, templates, workflows, and DAM.
    3-5 Years of experience with any of APM and other monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, New Relic, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, Sensu, Nagios, Kafka, DataDog, PagerDuty.
  • Having depth knowledge in Terraform (Infrastructure as Cloud).
  • Experience in microservices and/or service-oriented architecture
  • Excellent communicator to collaborate at different levels, across diverse skill teams.
  • The ability to articulate complex information succinctly and accurately.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Able to understand and translate both technical and business language.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving ability with a strategic mentality, ability to assess risks and propose appropriate mitigation actions based on professional judgment.
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work independently as well as in team.
  • Deal with ambiguity, competing requirements and priorities.
  • Be open and ready to disrupt ourselves, modernize and simplify things.
