Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – in office as needed)

Position Type: Direct Hire

Salary Range: $120,000 $165,000

 

About the Role

We are seeking a Human Factors Lead (Packaging & Accessibility) to lead human factors research, testing, and product development initiatives with a strong focus on packaging solutions for limited mobility users. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are safe, accessible, and user-friendly, while meeting regulatory and design standards.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct human factors research and usability testing for packaging and product design.
  • Partner with product development teams to integrate human factors principles throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Apply expertise in occupational biomechanics, cognitive engineering, and work physiology to improve product usability.
  • Ensure packaging design addresses accessibility needs, particularly for limited mobility and arthritis-affected users.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to guide design decisions and regulatory compliance.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Engineering Psychology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in packaging, product development, or human factors engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in human factors research and testing.
  • Background in product design, occupational biomechanics, cognitive engineering, and/or work physiology.
  • Strong understanding of packaging for limited mobility users.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or certification in Human Factors, Industrial Design, or Accessibility Design.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer goods).
  • Familiarity with arthritis-specific accessibility needs through research or direct involvement.
