What You Will Do :

For many of our Guidehouse clients, data management, AI, and automation advancements are critical for moving the business forward. As a Data and AI Consultant, you will work with a Guidehouse Manager and Team to implement interdisciplinary projects that bridge business needs and technical solutions. You will support client conversations and the development of deliverables related to data maturity assessments, AI readiness assessments, data/AI strategies and roadmaps, governance structures, and solution architecture to modernize data platforms that enable our clients to harness the power of data and AI to solve problems, improve processes, and innovate. Additionally, if you have the right technical skills, you may also get assigned to support projects that are focused on technical delivery of data and AI projects, such as implementing a data cataloging solution, developing data pipelines to ingest data in a data repository, or AI projects.

You will work with other Guidehouse employees and cross-functional client teams to understand the client's current state of data and AI and to provide advisory and business/technical support to help them reach their future data and AI vision. This role is a fusion of stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and data and AI topical understanding, business acumen, and project management skills.
  • Supporting the facilitation of client conversations to understand and document client needs.
  • Supporting the development of recommendations based on best practices, feasibility, and client priorities.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and requirements.
  • Collecting and reviewing client artifacts to understand current state of data, AI, and technology.
  • Supporting the Manager in developing and providing consultative guidance for data/AI management and governance.
  • Developing high quality deliverables in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel that are clear, visibly appealing, and have no/low errors (e.g., recommendation reports, assessments, strategies, and artifacts for leading meetings and gathering information).


What You Will Need :

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Minimum of THREE (3) years of professional experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Understanding the strategic goals and operational challenges of a business is crucial to prioritize data and AI initiatives and align them with business objectives. Data and AI Consultants must possess an understanding of basic data management and awareness of AI techniques so that they can assist the Guidehouse Manager and Team in developing the appropriate recommendations can be generated for each client.
  • Strong sense of logical concepts to understand designs of testable criteria, data structures and standards, metadata elements, data quality rules, and data ecosystem links and relationships.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbally and in writing, are critical the Data and AI Consultant, as the Consultant will often meet with client leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams. Data and AI Consultants must be able to effectively communicate insights and recommendations in a clear and concise manner, including clearly translating complex technical concepts into insights that non-technical stakeholders will understand.
  • Developing high quality documents that leaders and organizations can use to initiate data/AI strategies and projects (e.g., assessments, strategies, roadmaps). Data and AI Consultants must have strong attention to detail, be fluent in MS Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio) and have an eye towards making deliverables look appealing.


What Would Be Nice to Have :
  • Previous experience working for a consulting company and in a client-facing role
  • Possess strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to make sense of complex data sets and extract meaningful insights. More technically focused Data and AI Consultants can conduct exploratory data analytics, such as identify patterns, trends, and outliers and create visualizations to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Proficient in programming languages, data visualization tools, and AI technologies is necessary for a more technically focused Data and AI Consultants to effectively analyze and interpret data. For example, able to manipulate and analyze large datasets using tools such as Python, R, or SQL and have experience with tools like Kafka or Spark.
  • Industry recognized certifications focused on data management, such as the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) and/or data platform certifications with Databricks, Azure, AWS, Snowflake, and/or Collibra, Alation.
